American Rivers

   A nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to protecting and restoring rivers in the U.S. Check out the background information on Pacific Salmon for information about the salmon lifecycle, threatened salmon stocks, and threats to salmon populations. Follow the "generalized life history patterns of salmon" link for a chart that explains where different species are found during different times of the year. The site also contains a useful overview of the U.S. Endangered Species Act.
